Celina Marie Di Cecca was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. She picked up her first violin at age four, it was then she began her classical studies. After attending her first fiddle camp at age 12, and being exposed to the toe-tapping rhythms of fiddle music, she fell in love with Canadian Celtic and Old Time music.
Celina has been wowing audiences for over 20 years performing both classical and fiddle music throughout Canada. She earned her Music Education degree from The University of Western Ontario with honours, majoring on the viola. This is where she decided that music would be her full time job.
It was in 2010 that Celina opened up her music studio, Celina's String Studio. She teaches fiddle, violin, viola, piano and mandolin and has successfully built her studio to over 30 private students both in person and online around the world. She offers private lessons, group lessons and runs an amateur ensemble called Forest City Folk Orchestra.
Celina brings a dynamic finesse to her stage performance and is a highly sought after live and studio musician in throughout southern Ontario. She has performed with such notable musicians as Kevin Hearn (Barenaked Ladies), Heather Rankin (The Rankin Family) Shane Cook, Mark Sullivan and Jake Charron (East Pointers).
Celina’s current big project is producing, directing and performing in the incredible show, The Great Canadian Fiddle Show. The show has performed numerous times at Canada's Wonderland, was a featured band at the Canadian National Exhibition and performed that the Grey Cup.
Celina is also in a variety of bands including folk-roots duo Greyhound Riders and wedding/party band The Amores. She's also a founding member of Steel City Rovers and has performed with the Tartan Terrors, Sirens of Shanti, Wildlife and Shy Kid.
It was during Celina's university years where she first started to dabble in songwriting with her guitar. Over the past decade, Celina has written dozens of songs. With plans to record all of the music she written, her single, "Waiting" is available for purchase here and where all digital music is sold. Her music has been described as fresh folk pop, catchy and fun.
She frequents as a fiddle instructor at regional fiddle camps and is active as both a judge and contestant at local fiddle contests in Ontario.
Most recently, while attending early childhood music and movement classes with her son, Celina fell in love with the idea of teaching baby and toddler classes herself. In January 2019, she became a certified teacher of early childhood music by taking the Music Together course.
Currently residing in London, Ontario with her husband and son. Celina is teaching, composing, and performing live as often as possible.
